Agatha’s Triumph Of Faith
The hairbrush was right in front of her, but no matter how she willed her hand to pick it up, she couldn’t lift it. Agatha Buys watched her hands with a feeling of hopelessness as they trembled uncontrollably before her. For several minutes, she had attempted to use the hairbrush on her daughter’s hair, but found it impossible to get her hands still. She was just forty six years old, but at that moment she felt twice her age, bound by an infirmity that was slowly taking her life away
No one could tell her for sure what caused it. Her earliest recollection of having sensed something was wrong with her was one Sunday afternoon in 2001. She was with her family on their usual Sunday afternoon walk, but observed she was struggling to keep up with them. They had paused several times for her, so she could rest a while. However, no matter how many times they stopped, she couldn’t shake off the feeling of tiredness that suddenly overwhelmed her. At some point, she could hardly walk anymore. So they immediately ended their walk and headed straight home.
Agatha reasoned that she merely needed to rest, but when she woke up and still felt pains in her legs, she knew something had definitely gone wrong. She only hoped it wasn’t anything serious. But her first visit to the hospital filled her heart with fear. The doctors, unable to diagnose the problem, told her she was probably having a problem with her brain. So they advised her to have an operation. For some reason however, they referred her to a neurologist, with hopes that the specialist would have greater insight into the problem. By then Agatha had become really frightened.
After series of tests and examinations, the neurologist diagnosed she was suffering from multiple sclerosis. The news hit her like a ton of bricks. “How?” she tried to say, but her mouth couldn’t form the word.
As though reading her mind, the doctor began to explain, “Multiple sclerosis is a chronic progressive nervous disorder involving the loss of certain vital tissues in the bones.” His words sounded distant, for Agatha was lost in thoughts of fear. But the doctor was kind. “There’s no cure right now but there are series of exercises that I would recommend. I believe they would help slow down the progression of the disease,” he tried to assure her.
However, Agatha found it impossible to do even the simplest of the exercises. She felt so weak in her legs, she could barely move them. Agatha constantly felt tired and sometimes she would feel so exhausted, she would be unable to stand or walk unaided. On several occasions, she broke her dishes due to the recurrent spasms that coursed through her hands when she attempted to carry things. Fulfilling her responsibilities as a wife and mother became extremely difficult. She had a son and a daughter, but found herself unable to care for them.
She felt depressed whenever she attempted to get the kids ready for the day. She found such tasks too physically exerting. Brushing her daughter’s hair became a heartache. It broke her heart to see her fingers unable to hold her hairbrush. In a short while, the condition took its toll on her emotionally.
Agatha continued in this sad state until one day, a friend told her about the Healing School. Agatha was inspired by the confidence and faith with which her friend spoke of the power of God at work through the man of God, Pastor Chris. Her heart became filled with great hope. She felt within her that if she was ever going to be whole again, it would be by God alone. “I just knew God would heal me through Pastor Chris,” she recalled saying.
When Agatha came into the Healing School, God’s presence there was so tangible, it felt like a great cloud of glory covered the entire place. Then as she saw others with more life threatening conditions confidently expect their healing, her faith for her miracle became strengthened.
When the man of God walked in, it felt like a mighty army from heaven had come in. He carried such a powerful presence, yet his eyes were filled with great compassion. As he approached her, Agatha fixed her gaze on him. At that moment, she felt the anointing of God’s Spirit flow through her body.
When the man of God touched her and commanded healing into her body, Agatha knew that she was never going to be the same again.
The climax of Agatha’s encounter with God was when the man of God took her by the hand and motioned her to get up. Without thinking twice, she rose from the wheel chair and stood! Then she continued bending and straightening up, and exercising like it was the most normal thing in the world. Prior to this time, she wouldn’t have dared do anything close to that. Her joy knew no bounds!
But God wasn’t through with her yet. As the man of God continued to guide her through those movements, Agatha felt the anointing of God’s Spirit flow through her body; God was perfecting her healing. For the first time in six years, she felt no pains in her legs. God completely healed her bones and restored her health.
Back at home , Agatha gradually resumed the beautiful life she once knew. “I don’t need a wheelchair anymore,” she declared with great joy. “I now do my household chores; I stand and walk freely; I climb the stairs. I have gained my balance; the trembling is gone and I now sleep without pains or stiffness. I do many things that surprise me now, like cycling at the back of my yard.”
God had wrought a great miracle in Agatha’s life, and she couldn’t thank Him enough.
Particularly touching for Agatha was the fact that her healing also drew her family closer to God. “They can’t stop thanking God for me”, she said.
God not only transformed her life, He touched her family in a special way that would always remain with them. Truly, God is love and He specializes in doing good things for His children.
Today, Agatha is a picture of divine health, and she continues to be grateful for all that God has done for her.
PRAYER
The healing power of God is on you right now, receive your healing in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let that anointing move through you now touching every part of you. Your heart is being restored back to normal, breathe normally now. The power of God is going through you now. That headache is gone, the stroke is gone begin to move the right side of your body, you are healed in the Name of Jesus. The stiffness in those legs and hands have disappeared. That growth is dissolved right now, in Jesus Name. Bend now, the back pain is gone. Praise God. Your cheek bone has been restored to normal. God has healed you today. Thank God for your miracle!
