YOUR ADVERSARY

Pastor Cheri

As Christians, we do not live by our senses. We do not war after the flesh. We do not point accusing fingers on people when we mean to explain the cause of an issue.

You shouldn't have or pray against human enemies. You may be going through alot, it doesn't make someone responsible for what you are going through.

It's common to find many Christians living like this wishing they never knew this person whom they claim to be the source of all the challenges they have. They go ahead to pray, casting them out of their sight and lives. This is a spiritual error.  Hallelujah! This error is due to the ignorance of the Scriptures.

Turn your Bibles to, Ephesians 6:12. The Bible says,
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

So our wrestle is not with human beings. It's not your next door neighbour that is causing it, it's not your mother in-law, not your aunt or uncle, not your brother or sister. Hallelujah!

That someone doesn't like you doesn't make him or her your adversary. It's ridiculous to think such after we have seen the Scriptures on such issues.

Your adversary is the devil and his spiritual cohorts of principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this world and spiritual wickedness in high places. These mentioned are found in our Scripture in Ephesians 6:12. They are not physical beings, they are not flesh and blood.

They are the spirit beings that cause mishaps in the lives of many and they begin to blame those around them. Making them do this, is the way the devil ticks them so that the attention wouldn't be on him or his cohorts. He gets busy with doing more when he has diverted their attention. As they get busy accusing others, He goes about causing havoc in other places.

This should make you know what your prayer life should look like. You don’t accuse the government, you pray against the devil and his cohorts causing the challenge. We know what to do because we are smarter than his strategems.

2 Corinthians 2:11 says, "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."
We are smart enough to know what to do. We know how to put him where he belongs, we won't let him have his way. Praise God!

From James 4:7, we see how to put the devil where he belongs. The Bible says, in James 4:7, ...Resist the devil, and He will flee from you.
You resist him with your faith-filled confessions. As you take your stand on the Word, making declarations of what you want to see, you put things in their proper places, causing the required changes. Hallelujah!

Notice James 4:7 never said, resist your neighbours or the government, your fellow brothers and sisters..., you are to rather, love them. Do them good and pray for them even those who despitefully use you.
"But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" Matthew 5:44.

No matter who they are around you, show them love. You put the Word to work and allow it produce results.

The believer's enemy is satan. He is responsible for all the havocs taking place in the lives of many around the world and he not tired of doing this. Don't let him get your attention by looking out for human enemies to accuse all the time.

When you accuse your fellow brothers and sisters, you are taking the place of the devil. He is the accuser of the brethren. He accuses the brethren but Jesus defends us. He is our advocate

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:" 1 John 2:1.

So when the devil accuses you, Jesus stands as our advocate, our lawyer to defend us.

You don't take that position and begin to accuse the brethren since you are not the devil. That's His place. And you know what, he's a defeated foe. He was defeated in hell by Jesus. So when he accuses, you just hold on to what Jesus is to you, your advocate, your defender, your lawyer, and what Jesus did to him in hell. This is why he is under our feet today. He has been defeated. Hallelujah!

Revelation 12:10 says
"And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."

He has been defeated and belongs under our feet! Glory to God!

Lift up your hands and worship the Lord, thank Him for His Word!
