THE LIFESTYLE OF GIVING

Pastor Cheri

Learn to give your best to God. When you give, have it in mind who you are giving to. You are not giving to your colleague, you are not buying something, you are giving to God. If you are giving cash, don't squeeze it up and throw it into the offering bag, you are not in a market, even in the market, it can be better than that.

When it comes to giving to people, give good gifts and make it look presentable. Don’t give or do things anyhow. People are precious to God and hence should be treated correctly. Hallelujah! Don't give what you do not need anymore to others. It's not a good way to treat others. Treat others like kings, they are kings like you. Be known for that.

When you want to give someone a gift, if it's a shirt, wash it, iron it, you can give it to a dry cleaner so you can package it correctly. Afterwards, you go ahead and give it.
If it's a shoe you are giving, polish it and make it shine good, then go ahead and give it.

Don't give what you don't need or use anymore to people, you will reap the same.
... For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38.
What you sow is what you'll reap.

So learn to give your best, you resemble God that way. God gave His best, Jesus as a Sacrifice to pay for the sins of mankind. The Bible says,
"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
God loved the world of men so much and gave, He did not just give but gave His best.
Take note that God loved and then gave. This means love gives. When you love, you give.

You can't say you love God and not give. To love is to give. Hallelujah!

So when you give, you are copying God, when you give your best, you are also copying God.

When you call someone a giver, it means he has the nature of giving. He never has to be convinced to give because it's his nature to do so. Just like goats don't bark they only bleat while dogs don't bleat they only bark, the same way givers are meant to only give. Hallelujah!
"In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good." Ecclesiastes 11:6.
This Scripture is a revelation by which the giver lives. He is always giving, always looking out for opportunities to give. He never comes to the house of God empty handed; he is quick and prompt to always give in the house of God and he gives at new levels all the time always seeking to outdo his past. He is a big giver in the house of God. Hallelujah!

As Christians, giving should be our lifestyle, it should be a lifestyle for us, it should be our nature to give, we should not always wait to be told to give, we ought to do it naturally. Praise the Lord. When it comes to giving, you should be excited at all times and be prompt to do it, be quick to respond whenever the opportunity comes up.

When you give to the Lord, do it with all your heart. Don’t give what you have, give what you are supposed to give.

Also, give big. The Bible says,
"But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and He which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully." 2 Corinthians 9:6.
To reap big you must give big. Hallelujah! It didn’t say "Those who have much should give big and those who have little should sow small seeds." So you give what you are supposed to give. Don’t wonder where it would come from. The Bible says,
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19.

Giving is a revelation. Your giving is determined by the revelation of God’s Word that you have in you and not on your bank account or your salary..

You are at liberty to give as much as you want to.
"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
2 Corinthians 3:17.

Giving is important to God. Jesus had to sit at the temple to observe the givings of all who came to drop their offerings.
"And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And He called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:  For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living." Mark 12:41-44.

He is still observing and blessing us today for the way and manner with which we give to Him. He takes note of your tithes, seeds and offerings and blesses you just as you have given.

Take up the lifestyle of giving today and learn to give big for the Kingdom. You can never out-give God, He gave you the seed you are giving to Him. You are only giving Him back what He gave to you and He'll bless you again for it. Hallelujah.

Keep giving and make giving your lifestyle. Hallelujah!

Lift up your hands and worship God.
